twitter header image before and after

Twitter is the latest social network to adopt a newer, prettier desktop with more emphasis on visuals. Previously you could only have a small profile photo, which only displays at about 80x80 pixels, and other than being able to change the text and link colors you couldn't add much life to your profile page. You had (and still have) the option to add a custom background, but it's not visible to anyone using Twitter from a mobile device, Phones, Ipads, etc, so every page looks basically the same and uninteresting.
Now with Twitter's newly designed format, you can customize your profile page to be a little more unique and showcase your brand to Twitter-ers using any device. Here's how easy it is to add or change your Twitter Header image:

  1. Log in to your Twitter account. In the top right corner, click on the cog icon and select "Edit Profile."
  2. Down the left side menu that appears, choose "Design." Here's where you can change your text colors, customize the page background, and now there's a button to add/change your new header image.twitter edit profile Twitter recommends the file size of the image you choose be 1252×626 pixels with a maximum file size of 5MB, although it will actually display at about 210 x 520px. After you upload an image from your computer, you'll be able to tweak your image slightly by dragging the zoom bar beneath the preview box.
  3. If you're happy, click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the screen, and you can check out your new look by clicking "View my Profile Page" at the top left.

Part of the new layout, your profile picture and company description is centered over your new header image. If you want to fine-tune how any of that appears, click on the cog icon in the top left corner, choose "Edit profile" again, and this time from the left column menu, choose "Profile."

If you don't want a Twitter header image, the default is a dark grey box. While maybe not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, any chance to make your business more recognizable has to be worth the two minutes to upload!
